Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home that has a combined gross residence income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home profits would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as nsfas application reflected of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of nsfas check the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to get more info wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
